Alex Eterno grew up on the Oregon coast and is currently working at Astoria Elementary School.
Alex developed a love for athletics while attending Astoria High School. During these years, he played basketball and was an all league player. He also had a successful career in other sports throughout high school.
Currently, Alex is coaching boys football and girls basketball at Astoria High School. Alex just successfully completed his second season with the girls 13U tournament team. The girls tournament team worked hard and went to state the last two years.
Alex admits that there is a transition from being an athlete to coach. He has found coaching to be an extremely rewarding experience and prefers it more to being a player.  In his own words, “I love the process of building a team and family with your athletes. I enjoy instilling hard work ethics, accountability, strength, and a strong mental mindset on/off the court.”
In his spare time, Alex enjoys kayaking, hiking, road trips, and watching sports.

Nick Both has lived on the Oregon coast for the past twenty years. His passion for basketball began in his youth while growing up in Spokane, Washington. While living in Washington, he competed in basketball tournaments in the Washington/Idaho region for several years.
After having kids of his own, his focus turned towards coaching. He has been coaching youth basketball for the past six years. Nick has coached both boys and girls middle school basketball for the Astoria school district. He also coaches several tournament teams of various ages that have qualified for state for the last 6 years.
Nick is excited about the upcoming summer camp sessions and has high hopes for what the athletes will be able to learn.

Jacob graduated from Tillamook High in 2011, he then went and played college basketball at Chemeketa Community College and Portland State University.

While at Chemeketa, he was awarded a walk on, redshirt position for the  season. Through his hard work and dedication, he was in the starting line up and awarded a full scholarship by the end of the first trimester. In his freshman year he helped lead Chemeketa to a second place finish in the NWAACC. His following sophomore year he helped lead Chemeketa back to the NWAACC Championship game and then brought home the coveted trophy. During that season he was also awarded First Team All-Defensive and NWAACC All-Academic Team.

After graduating from Chemeketa, He enrolled at Portland State University and secured a non-scholarship walk on position. After one season at Portland State, Jacob decided to take his talents North of the Boarder and signed a full scholarship with Vancouver Island University in Canada.

Jacobs words:  God had other plans for his wife and him tho. He brought a little bundle of joy into our life. I decided to hang up the basketball sneakers and focus on providing for my family. After two years of being away from the game I decided to make my comeback and created BeginNow Basketball.

BeginNow Basketball is here to help teach and train passionate basketball players. When Jacob was in high school He had a goal of playing collegiate basketball. However, He didn't have anyone to teach him what it would take to play at the next level. Coming from a small school kids like him were lost in the shuffle of all the other bigger schools.

Jacob Begin does individual lessons and can be contacted at www.beginnowbasketball.com
